directv cable not high definition

So, DirecTV upgraded their program guide. Result? Nicer program guide, BUT my DVR has two TVs tied to it- both are HD. First one works fine, other one says my cables or TV are not high definition- press Exit to lower your resolution.

Here's the thing. This message is a dialog which completely obscures the screen. After 20 seconds, the dialog goes away and the TV functions perfectly in HD.

So why the F*** did they put up this dialog. Look at the forums and you'll see a huge number of people have had a major problem introduced. DirecTV should have a little wisdom and not disply the dialog EVERY TIME YOU CHANGE THE CHANNEL. IDIOTS!!!!!

  1. Lol.....DirecTV LOVES to show you how many cute little pop-ups they know how to implant onto your screen and programming guide!! I used to have DirecTV, but DISH is definitely the better option for me at this point. I get HD Free for Life, more HD Channels, and an amazing group of customer service guys to help if I have any problems (which is rare). DirecTV also gives HD Free for Life, but whereas DISH offers it to ALL customers, DirecTV customers have to purchase one of the top-tier packages to receive this benefit. I save $10/month on HD Free, which is great as an addition to my employee discount! Things like HD DVR Free upgrade are also standard at DISH, and not with DTV. For me, the choice was pretty simple!
